get to know me
tammy visser, fitness coach and founder of hella strong

I was born and raised in SF where I grew up playing sports, which built a strong foundation for maintaining an active lifestyle as an adult.
I’m traditionally trained in psychotherapy and have spent 15 years of my career supporting young people in improving their overall health and well-being. In search of my own greater purpose and alignment, I made my way to Brooklyn where I have dedicated myself to my love for fitness. I have found strength in the gym, tapped into play through rec league softball, and have created community through group fitness.
The undeniable synergistic connection between mind and body became clear to me as I leaned on my love for movement to support my own mental health, and is now core to my training philosophy. I am filled with so much gratitude for the opportunity to share my passions with others and support them on their wellness journey.
Certifications: NASM CPT, CFSC, KBCU L2, PN L1 (in progress)
MISSION
create space for everyone to build strength and live boldly, both in and outside the gym.
my approach
We all deserve to take up space in every area of our lives, from lifting heavy in the gym to being seen and heard in our careers and relationships. We’re here to make a mark and won’t do it quietly.
Tapping into my 15 years of combined experience in the fitness and mental health spaces, I’m committed to helping clients achieve their fitness goals and find connection between physical and mental well-being.
Let’s all strive to feel completely ourselves in our bodies, live more loudly and swing kettlebells while we do it!
